Benefit - They're Real Mascara

There is no doubt about it that Benefit They're Real Mascara has been around many beauty blogs and there has been mixed reviews, so I was 50/50 on buying them. Benefit never really suited me but the ones who agreed with it raved about it so when Elle was handing out the mascara as a freebie I was right in there.

Elle Magazine issued the travel size of the "They're Real Mascara" the original size costing a whooping £19.50 from Boots and Benefit. Now there is nothing I hate more than spending money on something that will not suit me, especially with the mixed review I was a bit sceptical.

According to Benefit the They're Real mascara should; lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts & separates. Our jet black, long-wearing formula won’t smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

So these are my thoughts on Benefit They're Real;

I absolutely love the brush, plastic brushes are better as they do not clump the eyelashes. When first applied it instantly lengthened my eyelashes and separated them out just as Benefit stated. It also stayed on through the day and didn't flake off creating that panda eyes look! They were easy enough to remove with make-up remover! Although it did not provide me with the volume I wanted, even after a few coats it still didn't give me that wow factor.

With that in mind I was a bit disappointed, I know that this was the only factor that Benefit did not achieve but if I was going to spend £19.50 it wouldn't be on this mascara. Sorry guys.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to do some before and after pictures as I was babysitting! Again sorry!

So I will be sticking with my current mascara! Have you tried Benefit's They're Real? What did you think?

Everyday Face Make-up

I have seen a couple of the "everyday face make-up" I thought I would do one too!

Face: Clinique superbalanced foundation and Clinique superpowder
Eyes: 2true eyeliner and Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara
Eyebrows: BeautyUK eyebrows pencil and Gosh eyebrows gel
Lips: vaseline

This is what my face looks like pretty much all the time, when I go to uni, work and doing every day stuff! I don't believe in caking my face on during the day because then I wouldn't have a different look when I go out at night!

Before I apply my foundation I use Clinique facewash, toner and moisturiser. I love my Clinique superbalance foundation because it doesn't make my face oily therefore I don't need to use primer! I recently went for a darker eyebrows pencil as well since my eyebrows are growing out! I don't tend to change my day face, maybe I will do a night out face!

What's your daily make-up like?

What's in my make-up bag - Handbag edition

HANDBAG EDITION:

I have seen a few of these going around and I thought I would do “what’s in my make-up bag, the handbag edition”

I used to have a big bag so I literally used to take everything with me. I came to my senses finally and I knew I was being ridiculous. Who needs that much make-up during the day?! Now I only carry the essentials!

I carry it in my No 7 clear make-up bag; it’s just the right size to fit in my bag and fits all my make-up in.

Clinique Superpowder – I usually re-apply when I get a bit shinny during the day
Clean and Clear Oil Control Film – I use this before re-applying powder to absorb excess oil so it doesn’t clog up my pores when I re-apply my powder.
Powder brush- when I went to university I’ve lost all my other brushes and I have just stuck with this one since.
Compact mirror
Clinique chubby stick- for some extra colour
Vaseline
Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara
2True eyeliner
BeautyUK eyebrows pencil- recently got HD brows, so these just fills in the gaps.
Gosh Defining Brow Gel- my eyebrows hair grows downwards, so this just helps controls it.

I see some people that carry all their make-up in their bag (including me before I came to my senses) but it just makes you bag extra heavy and you just don’t need all of that!

What’s in your make-up bag? Do you carry everything round with you?

Max Factor - Clump Defy Volumising Mascara

Hi all, half way through the week already getting closer and closer to the weekend! Finally, I feel like this week is dragging, I had my last exam on Tuesday, keep your fingers crossed for me!!

(not my picture)

I have had my fair shares in mascara and mascara was what started my obsession with make-up! I cannot tell you how many types of mascara I have had since I started wearing make up!

I've always been a fan of Max Factor mascara because in the adverts the models are not wearing false lashes, so you can really see what the mascara will do! I hate the mascara adverts where the models wear false lashes and it makes me think that my lashes are going to turn out like that and obviously it doesn’t. As I am very fussy with the type of brush on my mascara this was great choice. The Clump Defy Volumising mascara does exactly what it says. Due to the plastic brush it stops the clumps forming on my lashes as it is easier to brush it out if they do clump.

As I work early shifts I yawn a lot because I am so tired and most mascaras I have had would smudge and let me tell you these doesn’t, I fall asleep and wake up my lashes are still the same as it was before I fell asleep.

I can’t rate this mascara enough, I absolutely love it. I have small and thin lashes so the mascara does volumise it and gives my eyes definition. It is also easy to remove at night which is an added bonus.

After two coats
They are available in Superdrug or Boots for £10.99

Have you tried the Max Factor Clump Defy Volumising Mascara?
